Tania Sarker, MD, MPH

Dr. Sarker is a board certified physician in Pediatrics and Pediatric Hematology/Oncology. She completed her medical school training in India and started her medical journey in the United States first at UNC Chapel hill school of public health for a MPH in health behavior and health education followed by pediatric residency training at The University of Toledo in Ohio. Dr. Sarker  also completed a fellowship training in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology from Children’s Hospital of Michigan in Detroit, MI. Dr. Sarker has lived in many different states and cities in the USA with her husband who is a practicing cardiologist prior to planting their roots in Atlanta.
Dr. Sarker moved south for her husband’s training in Cardiology and just fell in love with the warm weather and hospitality! She has practiced in Michigan and South Florida for a few years prior to moving to Atlanta. In this long and fulfilling educational journey, they are blessed with two wonderful daughters. She moved with her family to Atlanta in 2020 and instantly fell in love with the city’s rich culture and diversity. Prior to joining East Cobb pediatrics, Dr. Sarker worked at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta with the Aflac Cancer and Blood disorders team.
Dr. Saker has a broad range of clinical interests including breastfeeding, nutrition, childhood neurological development, anemia, and other blood disorders. Dr. Sarker loves the fact that as a Pediatrician she gets to work with the tiniest newborn until they become young adults (21 years old).
During her free time, she loves to do HIIT training, cook vegetarian meals, try out new restaurants, and plan for their next family vacation. Dr. Sarker also loves to volunteer at her daughter’s school and participate in all their extracurricular events.
Dr. Sarker strives to provide excellent care to your children by spending time in knowing your child on your first visit at the office. She loves to know the families well so she can collaborate and partner with them in providing the best care to their children. She looks forward to seeing you at East Cobb Pediatrics.
