Congratulations and Welcome to East Cobb Pediatrics!
We are so excited that you have chosen us to take part in the care of your newborn. Our practice includes a variety of physicians and nurse practitioners who are part of a team. Our main goal is to help you learn how to be the best parent you can be. We are experienced providers who will help you feel comfortable and confident in caring for your new baby. We look forward to getting to know you and your new family!
Please call to schedule your visit and to learn more about our providers and our practice.
- We offer free prenatal visits for expecting parents at both of our office locations (Kennesaw & Marietta/East Cobb)
- To accommodate for COVID-19, we will be offering these visits online through ZOOM every two weeks.
During the first days of your baby’s life, we would like you to come into the office within 1-3 days after your hospital discharge. You will see one of our providers as well as our newborn specialist, who’s a nurse practitioner and a board certified lactation consultant. We are one of the few practices in the entire metro Atlanta area with this resource.
Our newborn specialist is Barbara Cossman MN, RN, CPNP, IBCLC. Her specialty is the newborn period of the first month of life. She will address the many questions and concerns that you have about your new baby. Barbara is able to spend 1 hour during that first visit with you and your baby. She will help you learn to enjoy your baby. We will support your decision to feed your baby as you desire.
At this initial visit, your baby will be given a complete physical exam; and if you decide to breastfeed, you will have the opportunity to have a breastfeeding evaluation. If you are breastfeeding, we will support your decision by having our newborn specialist / lactation consultant available. We will work with you and your baby to ensure an optimal feeding and bonding experience.
This unique level of service is one of the many reasons that East Cobb Pediatrics is the perfect choice for your baby’s health care needs.
