Danny Heine, M.D.

Dr. Heine, a dedicated pediatrician and managing partner, joined East Cobb Pediatrics in 2014, bringing a wealth of experience. Before joining us, he served as a faculty member at the Medical College of Georgia and worked extensively at Palmetto Pediatrics in South Carolina, including the newborn nursery and as Chief of Pediatrics at Aiken Medical Center.

Dr. Heine was born and raised in Metairie, LA, just outside of New Orleans. He earned his BA from Rhodes College in Memphis, TN, and completed his medical degree at Louisiana State University in New Orleans in 2009. His pediatric residency training took place at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston in 2012.

Dr. Heine’s passion for pediatrics is rooted in his desire to help children during a crucial stage in their lives when they need it most. He’s also an enthusiastic educator, often mentoring medical and nurse practitioner students.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Heine and his wife, Poneh, reside in Sandy Springs with their two children. His interests include sports, running, travel, and cooking, and he aspires to qualify for the Boston Marathon.

Dr. Heine is a literal lifesaver. During our very first visit, for totally unrelated reasons, Dr. Heine discovered a life-threatening genetic disorder in my son. Eight years with previous pediatricians never noticed, and my son never experienced any symptoms from the disease. So thanks to Dr. Heine, we caught my son’s heart condition and got him in with specialists and on preventative medicine– so hopefully he never has any symptoms. I will NEVER take my kids anywhere else.

Dr. Daniel Heine is the ABSOLUTE BEST Pediatrician. He is great with our children, allowing them time to answer for themselves. He is able to make them laugh which makes them enjoy their check ups. He is extremely knowledgeable, including the parent in the plan of care. We are so lucky to have him treating our children in the East Cobb community!!!

“We’ve been with this office and especially Dr. Heine for 5 yrs. He is a great doctor! He is always on point with everything. I never feel rushed when we are with him, my sons love him and we still go to this office because of him. He is knowledgeable and always approachable.”

We recently transferred to East Cobb Pediatrics and couldn’t be more happy. Dr Heine heard a heart Murmur in our 4 year old daughter that had gone undetected her entire life by her previous pediatrician. After Dr. Heine heard the murmur we went to the pediatrics cardiologist the next day and found out there is a hole in her heart but small enough to close on its own. We are thankful and happy to be a new member of the East Cobb Pediatrics family!!!”

“We became patients with East Cobb when our first son was born and remained patients there for nearly three years through the birth of our second son. We always had a positive experience with East Cobb! Dr. Heine was our primary ped and we will be forever grateful for his calm and confident support and care … We were re-assigned by the Air Force—that’s the only reason we left East Cobb—and we will miss Dr. Heine and everyone at East Cobb. Thank you for taking such incredible care of our two boys and graciously handling all of our new parent questions and concerns!
