🚨 Measles Confirmed in Georgia: Let’s Protect Our Children

The Georgia Department of Public Health has confirmed a measles case in an unvaccinated metro Atlanta resident. This brings the total number of confirmed measles cases in Georgia to 7 in 2026. Measles is extremely contagious, but thankfully, it is also highly preventable.

💉 The best protection is vaccination. Two doses of the MMR (measles, mumps, and rubella) vaccine are about 97% effective at preventing measles. (CDC (https://www.cdc.gov/measles/media/pdfs/2026/05/measles-prevention-and-treatment-overview.pdf?utm_source=chatgpt.com))

What can you do?

• Check your child’s immunization records.

• Make sure they have received both recommended MMR doses.

• If your child is behind on vaccines, talk with your pediatrician about catching up.

• If you are unsure whether you or your child are protected, please contact our office—we are happy to help.

Measles can cause serious complications, especially in young children. By keeping our children vaccinated, we protect not only our own families, but also babies and others who cannot be vaccinated.
Vaccines protect. Vaccines prevent. Let’s keep our community healthy and safe. ❤️
