Daniel J. Heine, M.D.
Dr. Heine joined East Cobb Pediatrics in August 2014. Before joining East Cobb Pediatrics Dr. Heine was in Augusta, Georgia, where he was a member of the general pediatric faculty at Georgia Regents University. Much of his clinical work was at Palmetto Pediatrics in Aiken, SC where he spent time in the newborn nursery and served as chief of Pediatrics at Aiken Medical Center. Dr. Heine was born and raised in Metairie, Louisiana, and received his BA from Rhodes College in Memphis, Tennessee. He returned home, to earn his medical degree from Lousiana State University in New Orleans, in 2009. He went on to complete his pediatric training at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston in 2012.
Dr. Heine says that helping children at a stage in their lives when they really can’t help themselves is what inspired him to become a doctor and that his best quality is his patience. His favorite areas in pediatrics are dealing with asthma, pneumonia, and cardiology especially heart murmurs.
Dr. Heine and his wife Poneh live in Sandy Springs and have two children. In his spare time, he enjoys watching sports, especially soccer and football, running, traveling, and cooking Cajun/Creole foods.
